beamWeldFoam: Numerical simulation of high energy density fusion and vapourisation-inducing processes

چکیده
High energy density advanced manufacturing processes, such as power beam welding and additive manufacturing, are notoriously difficult to simulate. Such processes initiate fusion, vapourisation, state transitions in their respective (normally metallic) substrates generating complex metallic flows over incredibly short time scales. To mathematically model equations describing the conservation of momentum, energy, an equation that describes evolution substrate interface must be considered. In this work, we present beamWeldFoam, OpenFOAM solver capable simulating these high processes. substrate, shielding gas phase, treated incompressible. The volumetric dilation due vapourisation transition is neglected, instead, a phenomenological recoil pressure term used capture contribution momentum fields vaporisation events. beamWeldFoam released under GNU general public license, its source code available on Github.

Numerical solution and simulation of random differential equations with Wiener and compound Poisson Processes
Ordinary differential equations(ODEs) with stochastic processes in their vector field, have lots of applications in science and engineering. The main purpose of this article is to investigate the numerical methods for ODEs with Wiener and Compound Poisson processes in more than one dimension. Ordinary differential equations with Ito diffusion which is a solution of an Ito stochastic differentia...
متن کاملThe effect of high-energy electron beam on drawn and undrawn high density polyethylene fibers
HDPE monofilaments were obtained using different extruders and drawn by post-extruder equipments. After solidification, drawn and undrawn monofilaments (draw ratio 7:1) were irradiated with 10 MeV electron beams in air at room temperature at 25, 50, 75, 100 and 125 kGy dose ranges to induce a network structure. HDPE crosslinking was studied on the basis of gel content measurements. The fibers w...
متن کاملNumerical simulation of magnetic fusion plasmas
The review specializes to the modelling of plasmas in a particular type of fusion experiment. namely the tokamak. Simulation is taken to imply the use of a model which involves variation in at least two coordinate directions and is nonlinear, the nonlinearity invariably being of the advective type. Developments in the period 1976-1992 are covered under five main beadings, with particle methods ...
متن کاملHeavy ion fusion science research for high energy density physics and fusion applications*
During the past two years, the U.S. heavy ion fusion science program has made significant experimental and theoretical progress in simultaneous transverse and longitudinal beam compression, ion-beam-driven warm dense matter targets, high brightness beam transport, advanced theory and numerical simulations, and heavy ion target designs for fusion. First experiments combining radial and longitudi...
